CFO signs Memorandum of Agreement with PASC and SSU

06 August 2024 – The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) would like to thank the Philippine Australian Sports & Culture, Inc. (PASC), one of our generous overseas donors for supporting the Commission’s Lingkod sa Kapwa Pilipino Program (LINKAPIL).

Recently, Secretary Romulo “Leo” V. Arugay signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Ms. Marivic Ayap-Flores of PASC and Dr. Redentor S. Palencia of the Samar State University (SSU), on providing scholarship assistance to five university students in Samar. The students, who are currently enrolled at SSU-Catbalogan City are taking up courses in various fields, from Education, Psychology, Pharmacy, Industrial Technology, to Computer Engineering.

The CFO implements the LINKAPIL Program to harness the potential of overseas Filipinos as active partners in Philippine development efforts, particularly in the fields of education, infrastructure, health and welfare, and livelihood and investment. One of the components of LINKAPIL is the “Adopt-a-Scholar” Project, which provides scholarship opportunities to economically disadvantaged but deserving students to help them complete their education, and achieve their dreams of having a better and brighter future.

PASC was a recipient of the prestigious Presidential Award for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas for their efforts to strengthen the ties of the Australian-Filipino community by promoting sports and cultural activities, and organizing philanthropic activities.

The CFO encourages overseas Filipinos to give back to the motherland and their local communities. Interested donors who want to provide scholarships and help support development projects for our marginalized kababayans in the Philippines, may get in touch with the CFO’s Project Management Division through tel. no.:(+632) 8552-4700 local 737, or e-mail: pmd@cfo.gov.ph.
